Record number of WHS students taking AP classes

Wauconda CUSD 118 – District 118 reached a new high benchmark in 2012 with a record number of Wauconda High School students sucessfully completing college-level Advanced Placement (AP) classes and exams. This success is a direct result of our community's long-term committment to educational excellence.

Additionally, WHS recently had 44 students named as Illinois State Scholars. This distinction recognizes outstanding academic achievement based on ACT scores.

 Five Years for German Company with Wauconda Roots

This month marks five years since Wauconda-based Chamber member, Progressive Components formed AST Technology, based in Herford Germany. With four employees in Germany and eight in England, AST consists of engineers who consult to global companies such as UniLever, P&G, Nokia, and RIM, and this year expansion is growing to North America and Asia. AST's senior management is frequently in Wauconda, and enjoys our town's boating, dining, and musical offerings!
