Chamber Tree Heralds Arrival of the Holidays

Chamber member, Homer Tree Care of Wauconda has once again stepped up to the plate in assisting Chamber staff with the installation and decoration of the Chamber tree. Homer employees, Jackie Powers, John Schiemann and Brad brought donuts and holiday cheer before grabbing lights and ornaments to decorate the beautiful Blue Spruce that was donated to the Chamber by William Lorr Nursery in Woodstock, IL. The Lorr family donated the tree in memory of Wauconda resident, Jimmy Porten who shared their love for landscaping and horticulture.
Give a Chamber Gift Check for the Holidays!
Give the unique gift of community investment by letting the Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce do your shopping for you! The Chamber has officially rolled out its “Gift Check” program being held in conjunction with the Chamber’s "Your Dollar has Power" program to promote community awareness of the importance of shopping local. The Chamber office will be selling the gift checks at face value. They are standard bank checks drawn on a Chamber checking account solely dedicated to this new program.
A small booklet will accompany each gift check purchase, listing over 275 participating Chamber businesses that will accept the gift checks as payment for merchandise or services rendered. Participating Chamber members will also be displaying signs acknowledging acceptance of the gift checks in their place of business. Store credit or cash back on the Chamber gift checks will be at the discretion of each participating business.
Gift checks will be available for purchase year round, and make great gifts for teachers, coaches, service workers, neighbors, employers, employees, or just as a donation to a favorite charity. Plus, it encourages the patronage of local Chamber businesses!
